Meteor Vineyard Perseid Cabernet Sauvignon marries the elements of our clonally diverse planting in one singularly expressive wine. Meteor Vineyard is a collaborative project of vineyard proprietor Barry Schuler and longtime Napa Valley winemakers Bill and Dawnine Dyer. Located on a knoll in Napa Valley’s Coombsville appellation, our unique combination of elevation, aspect and stony, rich volcanic soil produces some of Napa Valley’s most distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon.

Inky purple in colour. Ripe blackberry and plum on the nose with gravel and a kiss of brambly green. The fruit is nice and dense with mouth-watering long acidity … the aromas and character of the fruit are lovely. Jancis Robinson, International Wine Critic

This low crop draught year vintage continues in the tradition of Meteor Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon. The first impression is bright and translucent with a brilliant blue edged hue. Concentrated, layered and high toned, the 2021 Perseid opens with a good base of red berry fruits and quickly evolves with layers of sandalwood, anise, cardamon, and baking spices. Lifted acidity re-enforce the elegance and brightness and warm dusty tannins give weight and length to the wine. The persistent fruit returns to provide a long lingering finish. Dawnine Dyer, Winemaker

After an extremely dry 2020, the valley enjoyed a typically average water year, with much of the rain arriving in a timely way for the start of the growing season. Weather during flowering and fruit set was favorable, yielding a close to average crop. Summer growing conditions were exceptionally good, allowing work to proceed in an orderly way. Irrigation requirements were moderate, as was pest and disease pressure. Harvest at Meteor began on September 20th and was completed on October 4th. There were no ripening issues, and the quality was excellent 10/3. Mike Wolf, Vineyard Manager
