Meteor Vineyard Perseid Cabernet Sauvignon marries the elements of our clonally diverse planting in one singularly expressive wine. Meteor Vineyard is a collaborative project of vineyard proprietor Barry Schuler and longtime Napa Valley winemakers Bill and Dawnine Dyer. Located on a knoll in Napa Valley’s Coombsville appellation, our unique combination of elevation, aspect and stony, rich volcanic soil produces some of Napa Valley’s most distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon.

FROM CRITIC JONATHAN CRISTALDI, Decanter
This wine is a dark-fruited powerhouse. Terrifically vibrant saline-dark-berry fruit concentration defines the profile, supported by extremely fine and powerful tannins that form a solid foundation. The dark fruit is intensely flavourful, with penetrating waves cascading across the palate, building in intensity toward the finish. A fleshy, robust offering that showcases remarkable depth and energy in the 2022 vintage.
FROM WINEMAKER DAWNINE DYER
Dark and brooding, the 2022 Meteor Perseid Cabernet comes on slowly, opening with notes of sandalwood, black cherry, and black pepper. It becomes more expansive in the glass, with aromas and flavors reminiscent of dark chocolate, cinnamon, and wild herbs. This is a powerful wine- ripe and round with loads of tannin and a silky finish. This wine will cellar beautifully, best to decant when enjoying today.
FROM VINEYARD MANAGER MIKE WOLF
2022 marked a return to very dry conditions with very little rain falling between January and March. The dry conditions made it easy for crews to perform the critical handwork required in the spring without interruption. In the first week of September high temperatures arrived, yet being in one of the coolest growing areas of the valley benefited Meteor in weathering the heat storm, and timely irrigations helped the fruit to come through the record breaking heat in great condition.
Harvest was on September 9th.
