With only one barrel produced, our 2019 Special Family Reserve represents the absolute finest fruit from Meteor Vineyard. Hand selected by the row and cluster from a rock-strewn section planted to Clone 7 on Saint George rootstock, barrel aged in 100% new French oak for 22 months and then bottle aged for an additional year prior to release. Visually bright with just a hint of garnet. Mixed cherry and berry aromas with warm baking spices and notes of anise and black licorice. Minerality is present throughout in this evolved, elegant wine. The tannins are silky and long. This well-regarded vintage is just hitting its stride. Though absolutely gorgeous now, this wine will age gracefully in the cellar.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Family Reserve shows all of the savory, mineral intensity that is such a Coombsville signature. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, new leather, licorice, lavender, and mocha envelope the palate. The 2019 offers tons of richness and yet also remains light on its feet for such a big wine.
